Royal Buffet

Terrifying!
The only way I can describe the food is terrifying. This place actually makes Hometown buffet look appealing (which I don’t go to either). The sushi was so bad that I couldn’t bring myself to swallow it. On a good note, drinks are included with the price, and the restaurant was clean. Not like service is a big part of a buffet, but the girls were very attentive, and kept everything tidy. I do admit that I’m use to quality restaurants, so my perception of the food is of course worse. If you think Hometown buffet has good food, this place may be up your alley as well. They did have good shrimp dishes.

Toss up with Todai
They have good sushi and desserts served buffet style. There’s certainly nothing wrong with the restaurant, but for the price, I’d go to Todai (another sushi buffet). Much of it comes down to individual preferences for the types of roles they have. If you like the idea of a sushi buffet, I would try both Onami and Todai, and I’m positive you will have good experiences, and find a favorite.

Honey Walnut Shrimp to the Rescue
I believe this is the Todai in the Westminster mall. They have incredible service, even when they are very busy. The sushi is of good quality, and is always fresh. Dinner is about $10 more expensive than the lunch. The main differences are a half-lobster (not my favorite), shrimp, and I believe they have crab legs and oysters (both of which I don’t eat). What they do serve for dinner that is truly a treat is their honey walnut shrimp. It’s almost hidden at the far end of the buffet bar. It’s best when you catch a fresh batch because it has the walnuts and sauce on top (which are always the first to be taken). Of course the rest of the sushi and sashimi is great, and is worth every penny.

Best value on 2nd street
Z pizza offers both traditional and unique pizzas for a great price. Look for a coupon for Z pizza in the entertainment book. Not only will you get to use the coupon once, but they will write your name down in a book along with what the coupon was for… so every time you return, you can get the same deal. I found a coupon for 50% off any pizza, which makes z pizza by far the best value on 2nd street.

As gay as the 80's
The Mine Shaft is a local gay bar that offers reasonable drinks and several pool tables. It’s conveniently located on Broadway, so it’s an easy stop on a bar crawl.

Tasty and affordable
The Long Beach Pizza Company is a non-corporate Italian restaurant that specializes in pizza. They give you a great value for your money, and provide a comfortable environment to eat. Unfortunately they never seem to be too busy when I go for lunch…. Bad for them, great for you.

fun atmosphere
The restaurant has a fun atmosphere and good food. The price is average for places on 2nd street. The wait is often long, but that’s what you get when you have a popular place with good food and environment. I’d recommend it more for tourists than locals.

Professional magic
Brad Burt’s Magic shop is a professional magic shop that offers quality magic supplies to both amateurs and professionals alike. Unlike tourist magic shops, they won’t sell you crummy props that don’t work. They also have better prices than tourist shops, though magic supplies are in no way inexpensive. They’ve helped me a lot and I strongly recommend them.

Helpful and professional
I’ve been shopping at the costume shop for years and I’m glad that a such a professional shop like that is still around. They carry a great variety of costumes, make-up, prosthetics, etc. They can usually order something special for you if they don’t have it in stock. They are also very knowledgeable, which comes in very handy when working with make-up and prosthetics if you’re not a professional. Highly recommended.

Themed magic and professional
He does some great themed magic that really entertains children and adults alike. He’s transformed some traditional magic effects into original tricks by adding his unique touch to it. He also grows out his beard once a year so he can become Santa for some holiday magic. Very professional
